Hard times, bad luck...sometimes, life sucks. That's alright, we're okay, it ain't nothin' but another race.
With our regards to country music recording artists Montomgomery Gentry, we bring you the update on Renee's last two races.
Seekonk began well enough - a solid 20th place starting position seemed to indicate the tide of bad luck was finally turning for Renee and the #90 team. However, a lap 15 accident ended all hopes of a solid finish for the team, though the crew was able to repair the car enough to get it back on track. Renee would finish in 28th position, 58 laps down.
Frustrating as that was, it would end up being the high point of the last two races. Bad luck continued to follow Renee - she ended up having to attempt to qualify for the Riverhead race first. At many of the races the Tour travels to, this wouldn't be too big a deal - but at Riverhead, there are always far more cars then there are available slots. Renee would put up a fast lap of 11.970, while the last car to qualify on time put up a 11.939. The last car to get a provisional was 10th place Mike Christopher. Renee had just plum run out of luck.
When you hit rock bottom, the only place to go is up. Friday nights race at Stafford provides the first oppertunity to go in that direction. Qualifying is set to begin at 5:45 pm, with 9:00 pm being the tententively scheduled start time for the feature.
