Seekonk Speedway’s
Coca-Cola 150
On
Saturday, July 31, NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series
regular Renee Dupuis competed in a 150-lap event at
Seekonk Speedway (Seekonk, MA).
For
the race, 40 cars attempted to qualify for just 30
starting spots – once again the FMS boasted the highest
car counts in all of NASCAR’s touring series. In her
third year with the FMS, it was the first time the No.
90 team made the starting line-up at the tough 1/3-mile
asphalt oval.
Early on, Renee became the victim of an accident
involving two cars running in front of her. Entering the
pits to replace a badly bent right-side lower control
arm, Renee lost 43 (mostly green flag) laps in the pits.
After re-entering the race, Renee finished in the 25th
spot.
Despite the disappointing finish, the team picked-up a
spot in the seasonal point standings - now ranked 19th.
The
No. 90 team will next travel to Long Island’s Riverhead
Raceway (Riverhead, NY) for a 200-lap show on Saturday,
August 7. |
