Dupuis Included in
USA Today Rundown Team Purchases New
Chassis
NASCAR
Featherlite Modified Series competitor Renee Dupuis was
included in a special ‘Brickyard 400’ bonus Sports
section in the Friday, August 6, 2004 edition of USA
Today.
The
section entitled ‘Women on the Rise’ (see below), is a listing compiled by seven-time
Indianapolis 500 starter Lyn St. James. As you can see
from the attached, St. James lists Renee with seven
other female drivers and offers-up high marks describing
Renee as “one tough racer, smart, competitive, ready to
move up.”
“While
I haven’t competed against any of the other women
listed, I’m well aware of their accomplishments on the
track and feel fortunate to be included on this list,”
stated Renee.

In
other exciting news, the No. 90 team recently announced
the addition of a new, 2004 Troyer chassis to their
stable of FMS racecars. The team is expected to take
delivery of the chassis during next week’s Thompson FMS
event and anticipates debuting the new car at the
historic Thompson 300 in early September.
“We’ve
been struggling with our chassis for the last several
races and decided, as a team, that we needed to go in a
different direction,” explained Renee. “Troyer has a
25-year reputation of building winning racecars here in
the Northeast. We made the logical decision to go with
Troyer because of their continued strength in our
Series,” she continued.
Currently, six teams ranked in the ‘top-ten’ in the
seasonal points championship are running Troyer cars. |
